On the subjec...I like the oyster and eagle analogy. On the subject of fear - I often struggle with the theological perspective on fear. Some people say we should not have a spirit of fear because the Bible says so - i.e. the numerous "fear nots" and "do not be afraids." If God had to tell us that message so often doesn't it mean that He knew we would often be afraid? Don't we need to have a sense of fear in order to survive in this world? Isn't it fear that moves us toward faith? In my own life I have come to welcome the sense of fear because it lets me know it's time for faith to fill the gap.
