Riot Breaks Out In This Shepherd's Backyard!

News Flash! This morning a peaceful demonstration ran wildly out of control leading to an unexpected riot in this Shepherd's backyard. What would have been an otherwise non-descript October day quickly became a technicolor trip to remember. A quick scan of the participants ruled out any illicit drug use as well as putting to rest any concerns about the scene turning ugly. The only casualty of the event was the use of a swing, often enjoyed in the evenings by the Shepherd and his Beloved.

One of the demonstrators was asked about the reasons for this display and had this to say, "The heavens declare the glory of God...Day to day pours out speech."
Another demonstrator shed some thoughtful light on this display. "Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like on of these. But if God so clothes the grss of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?...Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

One other demonstrator was in a decidedly pensive mood and shared this arresting insight concerning the temporal nature of the display. "A voice said, 'Cry!' And I said, 'What shall I cry?' All flesh is grass, and all beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers and the flower fades whe the breath of the LORD blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."

Hey,

thanx for the comment. I thought I'd answer it here... We usually always take our shoes off when we are indoors. Guess it is a cultural thing. The main reasong being the weather. It is often wet outside because of rain or snow.

It will be six months before I will see anything green or bloom. I especially like the little blue flower.

I've looked at church planting in a similar light when our Lord tells us to consider (study) the flowers of the field... and When He tells Peter, "I will build MY church..." I've spent so much energy worrying about things I can't do and if I'll just trust him, He will provide what is needed to do what He wants to accomplish.

Great thoughts here. (and thanks for the colorful pictures)

Glad you all enjoyed the flowers. Wish you could have seen them in person. Incredible to say the least!

Paul T. - You need to flesh this idea about church planting out. If you need a different forum than your blog feel free to use this space. Good stuff. Tell me/us how we can pray for you this week. BTW - I know you live in a beautiful part of the country as well but I am truly sorry you will miss the green things. I'll try and post a few others before our killing frost hits in late November!
